I'm currently doing my prep for my C-scope tomorrow. I'm just finished liter 1 of the 4 liter container. My instruction sheet says to only drink 2 liters if things are running clear. Well, nothing is running at all yet! I started it 2 hours ago. How long will it take to get things moving?

I think I spoke too soon! Things seem to have started moving a bit. I want it to start, cuz that means the sooner it will stop!

Hi Never did that prep but the prep I used worked about 4 to 6 hours after I started maybe take another liter. I used silax and used to take it in the morning and about 6pm and be up to about 1 in the morning plus I drank water every hour. The second one really got things moving. Hope you start going soon. lol gail

My instructions were always to drink the whole thing. The time before last, I
had the timer set for every 10 minutes and drank it in record time. Didn't think I was completely cleaned out and I wasn't. This Monday, was running clear after drinking half but finished it with great difficulty. Basically drank the last while sitting on the toilet and having it run through me. Too much information!!

Hi Rachel!

Make sure you drink until it runs very clear!! Its sooo very tempting to stop -- but the LAST thing you want is to have to do it all over again because it didn't get all out!! When I did mine, I had an early appointment (8 am). While waiting in line to be checked in, I overheard the guy in front of me tell the receptionist that he had eaten toast that morning. They called it off and told him to reschedule. !!!!!!!! Oh, the horror!!!! So just think of this as a nice early spring cleaning!

Take care!

Oh my how could he eat toast! I had VERY strict instructions for no food today, and nothing after midnight. I stuck very well to my list given to me by the office of what I could eat. I plan on drinking at least 3 liters, and going from there. The GI nurse told me I could stop when things run tea colored, but I'm already past that point pretty much.

Good for you!! I stopped only when I saw nothing then drank another for good measure. And I was sparkling clean!!

Get some sleep tonight and don't worry about the procedure. Its quick and painless. Then you will go home, get something to eat, take a nice nap, and take it easy for the rest of the day. Then you will feel fine. Afterwards my doc gave me a folder with 4 good-sized color pictures of various spots in my colon. Suitable for framing!! I should have included them in my Christmas cards!
