Just wondering if you would share your experience with this drug and how its affected you both in regards to your Crohn's and social life.
I've been on it for about a year and a half now and I feel as though its starting to wear I've experienced with most drugs.
I'm not so great with getting regular blood tests... last one was a few months ago, they always come out OK so I let it slide, bad I know.
I drink occassionally, no more than 3 or 4 beers. No hard alcohol. Both my doctors have told me the that Psoriasis patients have to be more watchful of liver damage.
Take folic acid regularly because it supposedly reduces the side effects, although I don't take it the day of the injection.
Technically, this drug is safer than the biologics, but I'm still so preoccupied with how toxic it is.

Only be on it for four months so I'm interested in the replies as well. Just had colonoscopy last week and we are reducing the dosage to 15mg. GI said we would do this even before the scope. No side effects so far and it appears to be working somewhat on my stricture in as much as they could get a normal size scope through this time.

I get blood work done monthly. I do have psoriasis but pretty well under control and did not know there was any greater risk of liver damage..

Never heard anybody say they do not take folic acid on day of injection, I take it every day.

Was on prednisone for three months but no medication for next 11 months.
 Started weekly methotrexate injections 09/22/08.

I take 1mg folic acid a day. Been on mtx for 12 weeks (25mg) and I'm down to 9mg of prednisone from 20, so I think it's doing something. Side effects are very tolerable, so far anyway. I make sure I get blood work done every 4 weeks, as I am interested in my red count and liver tests. Good luck to you guys.
Dx'ed in 1999. No surgeries.

Current meds: 25mg Methotrexate. 12.5mg prednisone. Udo's Choice Probiotics (30 billion).

Tried SCD, didn't work, now avoiding gluten and dairy.
