I have been hurting on my right lower side since Saturday. I called Dr.s office yesterday and they set up for me to have colonoscopy tomorrow am.  I have pooped one time today-Usually I go alot more.  My stomach is so distended.  I have gotten nausuated since I started prepping.  I have not been to bathroom yet.. I have several questions.  How long after starting prep til I use the bathroom?  Can I take a phenergan with all this prepping?  I do not feel good.  My right side is hurting It feels like it is the ovary-but I know it has to be something to do with the intestines-b/c when stool passes in that area, the side hurts worse.  Also, does anyone know what might be causing pain below my right breast?  Thank you for support!

It depends on the prep you use, even with fleet last time it took me five hours when I was having a hard time going.
It helps to walk around a bit
yes you should be able to take some anti nausea meds

the pain below the right breast might be from your swollen intestine rubbing up against your rib cage.

This is of course caveated with call your doc.

Hi Bible,

Sorry you are having such problems! The prep can cause nausea just by itself. How long have you been prepping?? The fact that you have gone once today is good (not obstructed). Unfortunately, it can take a while to get started. Hang in there!

Well, I have started going it took one hour. I feel so much better. Not near as nausuated as I was.
Thank you guys for replying SO Quick!!! I really do appreciate it. The las colonoscopy I had (4 years ago) The GI could not get the scope into the small intestines it was so narrowed. He had to stop the procedure. Then I went for a small bowel follow through.

Ooowww! I hate the small bowel follow through! That barium stuff made me feel toxic all the next day. Yuck!

Glad you are going now! Not a nice process, for sure. Think of it as an early spring cleaning! It sounds like you have a good Doc -- he got you scheduled quickly. I hope it all goes well!

Good luck with your scope tomorrow. I tend to puke up the prep at first, but it always gets better.

I have the same narrowing too. They can never get scope through to the small bowel, but the SBFT shows enough.
Hoping to stay in remission after the birth of a healthy baby girl. On Pentasa during my pregnancy, went med-free 2 months to nurse (stupid), but back on Pentasa and still nursing.
