I have had crohns for a little over 4 years. I have had a few abceses and then was dx with crohns in my teminal ileum.I have not had any issues since going on meds at the time of being dx. For the past week I have been having pain in my right side, an inch or so below the bellybutton and to the right a little. Is this to high to be the crohns because I really don't know. The pain has been pretty steady and just when I think it's gone, back it comes. I'm not having any d and have not been running a fever. It's not awful but enough that I know it's there and does make me uncomfortable some times. Thanks for any help you can give. donna

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having pain on your right side.  You didn't mention is it is a cramping pain, or what?  This could be crohns at the location you are describing.  Are you having regular BM's, passing gas?  I hope it passes soon and you are feeling better.

Julia

Hi Donna,
I have this pain too but it's left-sided, I generally take Tylenol and that helps. There is no rhyme or reason to this pain, it just comes and goes. Hope you find relief soon.

Julia, Thanks for a quick respose. lots of gas, more bm's but not d. I wouldn't call it cramping, it's a pain it does come and go but I know it's there most of the day.
Thanks for the help. donna

Jo,
thanks for your help, it's hard trying to figure out what it is or if it's even the crohns, not having had this kind of problem before. Thanks again donna

I used to have pain in my right side, took my Gi doc a while to figure it out, ended up that my appendix was wrapped around my cecum, so they needed to remove my appendix and cecum, but becasue of where it was they also needed to do a bowel resection...this was all confirmed through a barium enema (horrible test)
Good Luck...but make sure someone checks out your appendix
Mine's wasnt a cramping pain either, it was just a very uncomfortable type of pain that was there most of the day....

Kelly,
Thank you for the reply. I keep waiting for it to go away but it doesn't. Did you run a fever with it. I will be having a colonoscopy on Tuesday so I'll find out if it's the crohn or not. I guess I figured if it was my appendix it would get worse and it stays pretty much the same. Very annoying. Well thank you for your help. stay well

that is where my pain is- i have it almost every day, and it is not crampy, itis just steady and burning. it starts to be really obvious around 4pm and does not go away until i go to sleep. i wake up not too bad, but the pain may start as early as 10a. i am on pain meds for it, and it still is awful.

No, I did not run a fever. Your doctor should be able to see it by the colonoscopy (my doc did)
Yes, it was just a steady pain that lasted all day long...at first I thought it couldnt be my appendix (cause it never got too bad) but I am glad it was found and surgery took care of it... I hope all works out well for you. Let us know

Thank you everyone for all your help, unfortunatly it didn't go well, I got so sick from the prep. I was still sick when I went for my test at 1:00thr following day. They took me in gave me meds but the Dr. said I was complaining about a lot of pain and asked him to stop so he did. I feel like such an a** to go through all that and not get the test finished. So I don' know where I go from here. I will see him in a few week and go from there. Thanks for all the help.
