Just curious if anyone else (with the exception of those on steriods) has increased appetite when they flare or if the Crohn's is generally not in remission. Even when I've been in serious pain, my appetite has remained strong, so I'm always surprised to hear when people talk about how little they want to eat. I'm hungry all the time, and I suspect that I'm just not absorbing any nutrients. In order to avoid feeling lightheaded or weak, I have to eat at least once every hour. Not a low blood sugar issue, been tested.

For the longest time thought my abdominal pain was hunger pain. But yes, I think for a very few of us the brain compensates for the lack of nutrition by making us hungery all the time. I am right there with you and I have found that MTX shots are the most effective.

normally when i flare i don't want to eat, but this time i've still had an appetite. Not really a problem though because I really could use the weight gain.
