I am quite new to this site but have found it very interesting reading everyones posts on here but now it is my time to put something on here.

I am 21 years of age very healthy and dont seem to loose weight which is a common sign of being ill, and this is my first reall flare up!!! so if yuo could tak a few miniutes to read what I have to say and possibly write back to me it would be much apreciated!!!!

Im not sure if any one can help me but if you can it may put my mind at rest!!!!

I have been put onto a course of steroids for the time being to try and stlle my crohns as well as another plill that i can not pronounce but it is the pill up from what some of you may know as 6MP!!!!

I am up the hospital every 2 weeks for them to take my blodds, every thing seemed to be very normal when they last took my bloods just over a week ago however about 3 days ago i began to bleed very heavily which most of you who will read this will agree with me is not normal atall, i have been getting blood clots with the bleeding as well. With this I also get server Stomach cramps and bubling in the stomach which is keeping me up for most of the night!!!!

I have been in contact with the hospital where they have taken samples however I will no hear back from them untill next wednesday when I am up there next.

So here is what i am asking:

Has any one ever had these symptoms???
If so how long did they last you and how did you prevent them?

I no worrying is not the best for the condition but obviously as this has never happened to me before i am going to naturaly worry so if you can put my mind at rest it would be a great help!!!

i have had bleeding since last October. i have been taking steroids with that but that does not stop the bleeding.
about the cramps i take pain meds and use a heating pad on my stomach. This is not a fun disease and it comes with lots of pain :(
about the bleeding i would not worry to much unless you feel that it is extreme amount.

good luck ;)

While I do say contact your doc and if it gets any worse go to the er.
Bearing in mind I had constant blood loss for years and while it is about what I get with a period and I would get alot of blood with passing of stool including blood clots it sounds like you are in a deep flare to me.

Im with Tazbunny. We cant know how much blood your talking about or the color or how much pain you are in. Pain and bleeding is something we all deal with but with time comes the knowledge of when its bad enough to call the doc. If you are worried, I would say its time.

I get these symptoms all the time. Steroids help me but give me bad side effects.

With the bleeding I just make sure I get my B12 shot every month and I take a multivitamin with iron. I keep an eye on the amount and when I go to my GI every three months I update him. Nothing else I can do here. I have gotten used to seeing the toilet full of blood so it doesn't scare me quite as much now.

For the pain I use a hot water bag, when I had a bath tub I would take a hot bath which helped. Tylenol does not work at all for me. My husband will rub my stomach and lower back which helps. I got a prescription for massage from my Dr. so my insurance pays for that up to about $500 per year, so I do this when I need to. I also went to see a dietician who helped me identify my food triggers and plan a diet around them. When the pain is really severe like what you are describing, I pretty much limit myself to oatmeal and other very gentle foods. I personally cannot handle raw veggies or anything with nuts or seeds, they make me bleed like crazy and really hurt. Popcorn is death! Everyone with Crohn's has different food triggers, so you might consider visiting a dietician to figure out what your are, if any.

Hope that helps!
