The past 6 days have been filled with a colonoscopy, CT with contrast, and an ER visit on Saturday-  I had to wait 6 long hours in excrutiating pain-  The hospital was very busy.  They wuold not give me anything until the Dr. saw me-  Thank God the pain subsided a bit;  But the final diagnosis was "Active Crohn's"  and go back on Entocort-which I just came off it two & 1/2 months ago.  My question is:  Is Active Crohns the same as a Crohn's flare?
Thank you!

I am sorry you had to endure the pain while waiting. It is a miserable feeling. On one of my first ER visits I had a total obstruction and the they didn't call in a GI for 15 hours. I literally thought I was dying. Once they gave me moriphine and put in a gastric tube I felt like a new person.

I would assume active crohns is what we call flaring. Did they give you anymore details? Was your pain from a bowel obstruction, inflammation, or scar tissue/adhesion? I hope you are feeling better soon.

dx'd with Crohns 1984, I was in remission for 12 years
Bowel Resection surgery 2006, Now on Pred. 20, and off Pentesa and Asacol to see how it goes
