the last couple of times i have gotten my humira shot, i have bled at the injection site.  is this normal?   a cotton ball can control the bleeding, but i'm not sure if all the medicine is getting in.  any advice?

How much are you bleeding?
I usually lose just a little bit, and I do see a drop of the medicine come out. I was thinking this was normal though.

Icing the area should help reduce bleeding, but I can't think of anything else(unless you want to apply a tourniquet?...).

I normally have a few drops of blood when I give an injection. I just wipe it off with my alcohol swab and stick a bandaid over it. It never bleeds very much.

I think it's totally normal. I have the same thing happen. The nurse who taught me to give myself the injections said minor bleeding at the injection site is normal. If you can't stop the bleeding, then that would be a reason for concern. But a couple of drops that stops with pressure & cotton should be fine!

sometimes you hit a capillary, one that's lower than the ones you can see. Just try to remember where it was so you don't hit it again and cause yourself excess worry. It's not a big deal, unless of course you're bleeding profusely.

Hm...I bled a lot more this time and a blue spot showed up. Does this mean a vein was hit? It felt like when you get an IV and they start injecting the saline solution.

I bleed on occasion, but usually only when I hit a vein on accident. Most of the time I get not even a drop of blood.

I just did a Humira injection and bled more than usual.
I didn't see any medication come out, so I guess everything is OK?

I have also had blood come out after humira injection. if it's not a lot it shouldn't be cause for concern.
