I was sitting and watching some TV 2 hours after dinner and dosing off.
All of a sudden I had a pain attack in my TI (disease area). It was so sharp the I could not move. It hurt all the way to my rear end. The pain was a "10"++++++++. It lasted for at least 5-10 seconds and then went away. i felt I'd better head to the bathroom and try and have a BM. I sitting there waiting for a BM and the pain came back again almost knocking me to the floor. I heard my stomach gurgling so I again tried to go. Again the pain was back and gone. I finally had a BM which the first part was formed and the rest just flew out of me like a rocket. After the BM I felt a little sore for a while but now I feel normal again.
What was it???? Was it food passing my stricture in my TI? Does this mean that the stricture is acting up?
Has this happened to anybody else?
Before this happened I was second guessing me having surgery next month, but after having that I want it removed ASAP.
I have had blockages before and the pain came on slowly over a period of hours before it was bad enough to go to the hospital so I'm assuming it was not a blockage.

Any thoughts???

You probably felt the pain of the stuff passing thru the stricture. I would not put off your surgery just because you are having a few good days, I think this pain is telling you to go ahead with it. I would also try to stay on a low residue diet until your surgery. You can google it and get some ideas of what is allowed. Just remember easy to chew, easy to digest. Good luck!

I saw my surgeon today for the last time before my surgery. I explained to her about the pain and she said that it was a blockage in my stricture and that I should continue on my low residue diet. I'm going on a cruise tommorrow and cruises have wonderful food.. It's gonna be hard, but I'm going to try and eat alot of Fish. I've got the Pred in case a flare starts.
Anyhow the surgeon and talked about all of my anxiety issues and she really made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Wow! What a load off!
