Hunger has never bothered me before (i used to be anorexic so i could starve myself for days) but after i started taking steroids i have been of them now for one week. i feel this awful pain in my stomach every time i get hungry.
Do you feel this too?
Does this go away after you stop the steroids?
how long does it take?

I actually start getting more Crohn's symptoms when I am hungry now e.g. bad cramping and nausea. I'm on 10 mg of prednisone right now. I can't say whether or not it is caused by it since I have been on this for a while. I feel like a lot of it simply has to do with Crohn's itself.

Just a thought, but could the steroids have caused an ulcer? If it doesn't get better in the next few days, you might want to touch base with your doctor.

I hope you feel better soon.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

I have had pain when hungry. I end up unsure if I should eat or not. Many times I feel better if I eat, but sometimes the pains really were a warning. I hated that feeling. It went away when the disease was under control.
Hoping to stay in remission after the birth of a healthy baby girl. On Pentasa during my pregnancy, went med-free 2 months to nurse (stupid), but back on Pentasa and still nursing.

yes- i have had bad pains when hungry. it is not good to get to hungry with crohns or in general. i used to be anorexic and could eat very little as well. when i go off prednisone i am less hungry but still get hunger pains. i think this is normal . maybe more with us due to our sensitive stomachs. sometimes i do not feel hungry- just nauseous- i know it is time to eat then. hope this helps ! good luck in recovery ! i know it is really tough !
