I just started Humira in December 08. I was informed the cost for the starter kit, followed by maintenance shots of 2 per month would be completely covered for 7 months using a co-pay card, then $50 per month for the remaining 5 months. I did the starter kit (6 shots), then come January the insurance changed to partial coverage of $325 per month, leaving me $390 per month. I'm not rich or poor, but this cost is too high! I have insurance through my employment, but a co-pay card is also required for this type of med. I've come up with the same cost pursuing this through two different co-pay cards. Has anyone else experienced this?

Oh my gosh! I thought my co-pay was high! I have to pay FULL cost ($1500 for 2 pens) until our family deductible is met. Then I will pay $150/month for the rest of the year. This sucks. My husband and I joke that one of us is going to have to go out "hooking" just so we can pay for my "drugs". If we don't laugh, we'll cry!

Hi Stef17, thanks for replying. Sounds like you're paying enough! I don't have a deductible, but my yearly cost would be $4800. Although Humira is working for me since I did the starter shots, I haven't decided to continue it yet. I'm also looking into Cimzia, to see if it's any cheaper. I'm still waiting for that info. I hope it's not another big number!
