I've been babysitting my older grandson, while the other little one made his appearance, and my goodness, it's really taken a toll
on my health. Who knew that looking after a 31/2 year old could put a whammy on things... My pain levels are way up. and so are
toilet trips, even my aches have aches!!

Now I know why we have our kids young, this Grandma is really ready for a long rest and a shot of B12, which I keep forgetting!!

Hope everyone is feeling pretty good. Love to all x

Ah...taking care of toddlers...it's amazing how something so small can drain so much energy from you!! And yet, it's a wonderful experience. I can't even imagine how great it is to be a grandmother :)

Hi Vicky,
Congrats on the new grandson. How precious. Sorry your not feeling well, same type of thing happens to me, I seem to get through certain events or occasions but I'm wiped out or unwell the following day. weird, I wonder if we run ourselves a little too ragged at times and end up paying for it, anyway you take it easy and don't go over doing it.

You are so right. After having mine for day I spend the next 3 days in bed trying to get my strength back up. I also suffer with chronic pain and once in a while a moan will escape from me, he will pat me on the shoulder and says"it will be ok granny". Wonder why I love this child like I do, he is my glue, he has kept this granny going for 3 yrs now.

Oh yeah when we are already sick, then add a little stress to it (although that is good stress) things can really add up quick and make us feel like poop. Sending healing thoughts your way. Have you got to see and hold the new little guy yet?? I know that will at least put a big smile on your face. Grandbabies are the best, aren't they????

Thanks all... My stress levels have gone up again, as our new little grandson has to have a special light bed at home, as he's
very jaundice. He's also lost 8oz of his birth weight, he now weighs 6lb 14ox, instead of 7lb 6oz. While I know all babies lose
their birth weight, he's now at the maximum loss that they like to see. He has to go to the hospital everyday for awhile, until
he improves... I guess they do it this way, rather than admit him, but right now I think both my son & DIL would rather he was
within the safety of the hospital.

I know he'll be ok, but I thought this little guy was going to be just peachy, after the cystic fibrosis scare that we had with Aidan.
Thankfully he turned out to be a carrier and not a sufferer...

Oh goodness! Yup, they heal jaundice at home. A good friend of mine dealt with that twice with the bili-blanket. It was very temporary (maybe 3 days or so?). I hope he starts to gain weight soon.

Also, CONGRATS on your newest grandbaby! ;) Some of my mom's greatest days were the days her grandbabies were born. She LOVES her grandbabies!

That said, chasing a 3 1/2 year old? Oh yeah, it's tough! I'm in constant pain and off and on D with spasms...after I chase my 18 month old around and feel like I get nothing done besides feed us both and change diapers and clean up. Sometimes I have my 18 month old daughter, my 20 month old nephew, and my 6 year old nephew at the same time...after I have the 3 of them, I'm wiped! LOL! And, I'm only 26...so dear Lord...when I get older, I'm a bit scared at what I'll be able to handle...
