I went to the Dr today for a check up and because my fistula has been acting up.  Got read the riot act for not taking my antibiotics.  I had elected to skip the antibiotics for the last few months because the yeast overgrowth in my mouth and stomach and intestines was so sever that I couldn't handle it. I had been eating yogurt and drinking grapefruit seed extract and it just wasn't powerful enough to counter act the yeast.  The furry tongue and severe painful bloating was more than i could handle and so I chose a sore butt over that.  So the result is that I have to go back on anti's and pro's and diflucan and my humira has been upped to 1x a week.  Overall I don't feel as bad as I have in the past but just not good and with the fistula traveling to the "front" region and towards the hip I have had bad hip pain.  Hopefully all the new and upped meds will reverse and close it up.  Just so discouraged to have been feeling so good and now feeling the downward spiral again.  i was told that eventually i would have to come off the humira as my body would just not respond anymore and hopefully there would be something new on the market to replace it.  Anyway, enough moaning and groaning, I just need to resign myself to the fact that it will always be an uphill battle with this DD.

All he gave me was the diflucan to control the yeast but can't be on it solid like the anti's. I usually use and electric tooth brush to scrub it although it is a difficult process to scrub/vomit/scrub/vomit...etc. I have such a touchy gag reflex and then add the texture of the fur...ick

(((Mojowo4))) sorry you are having such a time of it. My Mom always had a saying, "You can't win for losing", sounds like that fits you right now. I sure hope they get things figured out for you and you get feeling better soon.

Hugs,

Thank you Gail...You would think after all these years of coping with this that you would come to expect the bad and ugly with the good, but after feeling great for the longest time ever this last year it's kindof a blow to reality when it goes away. My mom used to always say that too. Then my daughter says "mommy, I hope you feel better!" in her little girl voice and that just makes my heart melt! She is so sweet and takes such good care of me. (When she is not being 6 and mischevious <sp>)
