Hi all!

I had my colonoscopy today and the GI said there was no inflammation (YAY! :-) ) but there was scarring in the colon.  I haven't had any surgeries so the scarring is from past inflammation.  My mom said that he didn't seemed concerned.  I'm just wanting to know if anyone else has had scarring and what this means?

Thanks!

Its probably from irratation and imflamation and things of that sort.  Its really nothing to worry about too much.  The only thing that might happen is the scarring could get worse and cause a stricture. Are you on any meds like Humira or Rem?  Usually they help slow down or prevent scar tissue.

Surgeries:2 Bowel Resections, Gallbladder Removed.
Current Meds: Humira (bi-weekly)

MAG, thanks for your response.

Right now I'm on Methotrexate.  I've been on both Remicade (4yrs.) and Humira (1yr.) On both I built up a resistance and they quit working.  MTX seems to be working...so far!

Yes, scarring can happen from past inflammation...glad they didn't find any present inflammation, time to celebrate!!!
