Hey Teddybearweiser. I am going to my gi today to see about starting Cimzia. I have been unemployed and uninsured for over a year now and should be able to get it free from the drug company. After a year on pred I now have ulcers in along with the crohn's. Quit pred forever, it does not work for me. I sure hope I do ok wwith the Cizmia, I'm scared to move up to that level of drug but I'm getting sicker and nothing else has worked.

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Hey Teddybear! I'm cheering for you! I've been off my Humira & Imuran for 7 weeks now awaiting dental surgery. It's pretty scary isn't it. Just to know I'll have to be off everything for at least 6 weeks after my surgery has been freaking me out too! However, I have been paying extra attention to my diet and have been playing around with macadamian nut oil, rice flour and various recipes this week. Within 3 days of stopping my drugs I was getting symptomatic and my psorasis was rearing it's head again. Having said that, the further away I stay from dairy, except yogurt, meats, except chicken & fish and everything with wheat or gluten products the better I get. I am soooo proud of myself today....I was the goose that laid the golden egg TWICE! In the same day! All of the GAS is gone too! I never knew my stomach could be so quiet! My skin is beginning to look better too. Hang in there and I hope you get your approval soon! Humira has worked wonders for me with alot less side effects of the Remicade. I have to admit I don't miss the injections. Had to take my B12 injection today and was a whimp about it since I haven't had to inject Humira every week. When you do get the Humira, get the ice packs ready 'cause that stuff really bites you back.
Dx'd Jan'06, 1st Resection 7/06, Humira, Imuran, B12 injections, Nexium, Lexapro, Nulev, Glucosamine, Multi-Vitamin, Calcium Citrate, Ultracet. Secondary conditions: Psorasis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, Lactose Intolerant, gallstones, kidney stones & peri-menopausal.
