My mother recently had a colonoscopy  and dx with irritable bowel and was given a prescription for PEG. She is confused,  as we all are when just waking up and doesn't know what it is. Any ideas?
dx'd with Crohns 1984, I was in remission for 12 years
Bowel Resection surgery 2006, Now weaning off  Predisone after another flare. Started taking my Asacol again.

PEG is an aconym for lots of things, including a feeding tube and the chemcial polyethylene glycol. Ask you doc. It difficult in the beginning because you don't even know what questions to ask. So make a list of questions and make sure your doctor answers all of them. Sometimes their assistants/nurses are very helpful in answering questions when the doc is busy.

Diagnosed with rectal Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.
