Thinking of trying it and wondering what success people have had. Thanks.

I'm looking into trying it right now actually. No other meds have worked for me so far. I've tried to get lots of doctors to prescribe it, but they won't do it. If you're in the states, I know doctors in Florida and Texas that prescribe them.

Lots of people have gone into long term remission from them. Here's one article about a lady who believes she's cured of her Crohn's from using the RMAT protocol:
http://www.pccnaturalmarkets.com/sc/0509/sc0509-hw-crohns.html

I actually emailed her a couple of months ago to see if she's still doing well and she says she still has zero symptoms of Crohn's and can eat anything she wants. So it's been over 4 years now with no symptoms.

There's also a MAP message board here: http://crohnscanada.myfastforum.org/forum1.php

There's a few people on it who are on the antibiotics or who have been. Lots of interesting discussion. You should join. Keep us updated on how you do if you do take the antibiotics.

I have a great doctor here in CA that is set to prescribe it. Seeing her this week. The only thing that works for me is the SCD diet. But I have such a hard time sticking to it.

I am very interested in what you all are talking about. I have been doing a lot of internet research on MAP. Are you guys saying that there is an approved drug to treat MAP?

The is a triple antibiotic cocktail protocol that is effective against MAP. See research paper:

I have chatted with several people who have gone on this treatment and all have had a great response.

Just looked at all 3 medications for this antibiotic cocktail and they all look very tolerable.

It may be another option in the future. Arent massive amounts of antibiotics no good?

Well they're much safer than the alternatives like immunesuppressants or anti-TNF drugs that give cancer, MS, lupus, psoriasis, TB, deadly infections.

But what if your Crohns is not caused by MAP? How is someone supposed to know if thats the cause or not? So maybe this treatment will work for some but not all????

Nobody knows really.  There are some blood tests and culturing techniques, but they're not widely available.  The majority of Crohn's patients have been found to have MAP in their bodies, so they're using the antibiotics hoping that MAP is the cause for that particular patient.

Even with Remicade, the doctors don't know if the TNF levels are in excess in their patients but they give it anyways.

In the largest anti-MAP antibiotic trial, the remission rate with the antibiotics was over 60% which is currently the highest of any available treatment.
