Hey, i was just wondering would salofalk help with IBS? I'm sort of in denial with this whole crohn's business because internal exams have been negative so i keep thinking it's just IBS but my doctor and GI assure me it isn't and that something else is definitely going on inside me. I know that this disease can take years to show up. would i be prescribed salofalk if they thought it was IBS? does that kind of medication help with that?

i'm definitley better on the meds and since my dosage was doubled from 2 x 500 mg a day to
4 x 500 mg a day i have been better, the diarrhoe has calmed down but still consistently everday have changing bowel habits. some days i will have to go 5-6 times not D but just small amount comes out then it will change again. then a couple of weeks ago i had such severe constipation i almost threw up. and that has happened once before a few years ago and i actually did vomit. what do you guys think? would IBS get better with salofalk? or is that not something they would usually give someone suffering from that condition?

maybe i am just in denial!!

also quickly one other thing. i recently got some blood test results back, which are fine except for my iron still being towards the low end and my liver enzymes are slightly elevated for the 3rd time! i know the salofalk can cause liver disturbances but my GI doesnt think it is the medicine doing it. i remember when i first started taking it he said that if it causes liver problems he would take me off them. so maybe it isnt the medicine? my liver enzymes were slightly elevated for the first time a couple of years ago before i had any medicine or any diagnosis of anything.
