Currently on: 36 mg steroids, Colazal, Remicade.
I've been on: Pentasa, asacol, methotrexate, immuran (I had a bad reaction to it), Enemas.. on and on and on..
I've had flare ups in my stomach but most of my symptoms resemble UC.. so my doc is unsure of what I have or if it's both.. I'm irritated by this fact.

Hi Guys,

Had my tests carried out this morning. I have been told that my throat is pretty damaged with scarring and one or two uclers also viewed. Mythroat is heavly inflammed and the doctor has decided that I shall be having an upper scope to repair some of the damage, hopefully. So, it looks like I am in here for at least 1 week according to the doctor.

I am now on IV steriod at 150mg to help with this.

When I speak with the GI doc later, I will let you know the plan.

God Bless.

conor

Man... That part about your throat sounds really painful. I'm glad you're getting taken care of... Bummer about being in the hospital for a week... Sounds like you have your computer with you, though... If you feel up to it, you can play games to pass the time.

Hi Guy's,

Thankyou all for your thoughts and prayers, I really am greatful. I feel and look like crop, but who wouldn't with crohns and it flaring as bad as it is just now? My chest believe it or not is still in really bad agony, however, I am getting a strong pain killer for that. My Doctor has been great with me. He has relly looked after me and put in one hell of an effort to get me on the mend.

I got weighted this morning guys, I am down to 148 pounds, from 263. I know you will think that is a lot, but I am a sports man, I play Rugby and Ice Hockey, so I needed the weight. LOL... Won't the guys on the rugby pitch laugh at me when they see me line up against them, if that eer happenes again? LOL...

Doctor has told me to make myself at home for a while as he will not be letting me out until he is 100% sure that what he has done has worked and won't flare up again. However, on the bright side, my stomach is showning a marked improvement. In fact, If it keeps going like this, I could loss the bag within the next three months according to the GI.

Guys, once again, thankyou all for your amazing support, Id be lost wthout this forum to come to have get such good support and advice.

God Bless you all.

Conor

nono Think about a camera going where the sun doesn't shine....flimsy gowns with gaping holes up the back....pill cams....supercilious doctors.....nauseating meds..... idea we Crohnies are bound to be able to play contact sport, we have a lot of anger to work off ! yeah skull smilewinkgrin
Oh, and of course traditionally rugby players are on a muddy field, so brown streaks on the shorts are nothing out of the ordinary ! smilewinkgrin
