I know, I know - the drug we all love to hate. Here's the trouble.

I had my loading doses of Cimzia on February 12th. My second loaders on February 27th. I'm due again March 13th.

I'm also tapering down the Prednisone. Today I'm supposed to go from 10mg to 5mg. ( I am considering going from 10 to 7.5 instead...)

Every time I taper (and we all know the scenario) my bowel movements become MORE frequent and LESS formed. I don't want to screw myself over before the Cimzia starts working (and I've grown fond of leaving the house again!)... but how the heck am I ever going to know if it's working if I'm still on these stupid steroids?

I hate this "chicken or the egg" nonsense!

Also, I think it's just a "roid rage" kind of day - I feel lost and utterly confused about what to do with myself. I know all will be well eventually, but any advice in the mean time is appreciated...

Are you having any probs now? If not, try going down to the planned 5mg. Maybe the Cimzia is starting work and the same Pred wean problems won't appear this time. But if the D returns, just go back up to 7.5 mg and try weaning slower. Good luck!!
