Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase a home occult blood test from a pharmacy?

I have never purchased one, but I have seen them. I would assume they are reasonably accurate. I'm sure you could ask your pharmacist if there was more than one to choose from which one to purchase. Although I have to say, I usually assume that the more expensive on something like that the more accurate.

You can purchase home testing kits from your local pharmacy. There are some brand names listed on the following site - not sure if they are available in your area.

Julia, this is a test that detects blood in the stool. Sounds like you just put some in the toilet bowl and if it turns a colour, you know there is blood present. I had some darker stools yesterday, but I was eating some blueberries so I was wondering if that was why.

Called a pharm and they didn't have it in stock. I may or may not try to track one down....

take care!
