Just wondered if anyone took Imuran without any of the nasty side effects? Any tips on things I can do to not get the side effects or have this drug work for me?

I take 6MP, basically breaks down to the same drug in your system. I have been on it for more than a decade. I have not had any of the nasty side effects other than elevated liver levels when my dose was increased. As soon as I went back down on my dosage, my levels returned to a normal range. I haven't had any other problems, and as you can see from my signature, I had a period of time before I started 6MP where I was having way too many resections. I think this in combination with a few other things has kept things relatively quiet for the last 11 years.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

Prednisone, 6MP,Prevacid, B12 shots, Bentyl, Xifaxan.....

I take mine at bedtime & have been on it for about 3 years. I havent had any noticable side effects (that I can tell) & it's been a lifesaver for me. I'm on 150mg & it has been the only thing that helped. I was very leery to start it but am thankful I did.

I have been on Imuran for several years and have had no side effects. My blood levels have always been normal and I have never had stomach pain from it either.
