When it rains, it pours, lol!  I now have a UTI! shakehead    My GI suggested I take Bactrim (Septra) to treat both the UTI and my current Crohn's symptoms.  (Small intestine bacterial overgrowth.)  This would be in place of Xifaxan, because he said the Xifaxan won't help the UTI.  He also said it can help with Crohn's symptoms.  I'm comfortable taking Bactrim, because I've never had a problem with it before.

Has anyone here ever taken Bactrim (Septra) for Crohn's?  Did it help?  Thanks again for all of your help.  Blessings, Julie :-)

I have taken Septra for UTI's before and never had any problems until years later when I developed a allergy to Sulfa meds. I would give it a try and see how you feel.

Good luck,
