Just got back from a little RNR and checked out the site only to find old VV was being his old self. You know how you can tell hes fibbing ? ,,His fingers are typing. Thanks Sno for seeing through the BS. I am sure I can post old VV's pic too. Even if he thinks I'm computer challenged. Would rather spare you guys the shock .  I still dont get the Kitty thing either.
The trip was good even thouth the driving was hard. Lots of rest stop visits but we got there and back OK.
Wish I could say I was living the Jimmy Buffet , margaritaville life down there but truth is I have more fun just picking up shells at sun up and late at night. Brought home a couple of rare finds this time too though the shelling was not great due to calm seas. The traffic in Florida was different this time too. It appears that 65 mph means 75 and 70 mph means 80+. Thats all fine if you know where your going. I was a little rusty on where to turn and when so it made me a little nervous . That may have led to a little gut trouble too but it worked out. I ate too much and did not gain weight. Even had a slice or two of Key Lime Pie. WOW, love that stuff.
Hope you guys are doing OK and I will be getting back up to speed in a while. Buy the way, from what I have seen there was a serious lack of humor while I was gone. Must have been the weather.

Hi Was thinking of you this morning and glad you had a good trip.. my plan to get away has been put off.. Yes humor has been slack so I guess you could call me a slacker lately but I too have been on walks and though there are still ice cakes as big as a boat in the rivers here the bay is clearing up and running free of ice.. must have walked almost a mile this morning ... lol gail

Crohn's DG 2003 , symptoms included terrible joint and soft tissue pain, just met first cousin who suffers from Reactive Arthritis-explains sooo much. Followed SCD Strictly 2003-06, then modified by adding new things 10-12 days apart to avoid delayed reactions in the form of arthritis symptoms. Scope on 2-5-09 was great! Doc says no symptoms,No scope for 10 years!!!

Thanks guys and gals. Looks like no one did the work around my house while I was gone. Guess we will catch up some day and if not,,too bad.
Sure enjoyed the time away though. The beach is a great place if your a crohnie. You can pass gas like you did long ago. No worries mate. No one can hear with the crash of the waves and if they do get a whiff of something odoriferous,, well,, there are all those shells on the shore. The great part is if you should have an accident you just wade out into the worlds biggest washing machine and let the waves wash your troubles away.
Turns out its 950 miles VV. Guess a non crohnie could make the drive in 1 day but we do it in 2. Lots of stops and if we see something we want to check out we stop. Had a great lunch at the Greek town of Tarpon Springs and bought a few sponges from the sponge divers . Great for washing the car and body parts too if you get the good ones. We found a shell this time with a small octopus in it. She had eggs and was not happy to be bothered even though we were saving her . We put her back in the gulf when the tide was going out. Just in time too as the tidal pool she was in was dried up the next day. Well we didn't save her though just her eggs. The male dies after mating and the female dies after the eggs she is guarding hatch. They only live about 4 years so this was the end for her anyway. Makes you sad, they are such neat critters. She was about 4 inches from tentacle to tentacle and I had never had one latch on to my fingers before. It was great. Yes VV, they can bite you but most dont. Had she had some blue rings on her like the ones in Australia I would not have been so close to the biting parts though. Those little guys are some of the most poisonous in the world.

Ah yes, so nice to hear your dulcet tones....see your tippy tapping typing,,,, if you know what I mean ! wink
nono You know, most people when they come back from their holidays they tell of when they got legless. idea You sir are the only man I have ever come across who comes back with tales of getting extra-legged ! shocked But a beautiful vignette, one that will stay with me. (Like the turtles in your yard, who sounded turtely awesome.) So ta, I will see what wildlife I can rake up - I don't think frogspawn quite counts does it (yet) ? tongue
Ah, I could do with a seaside holiday. Oops that's right, I live a mile from the sea, and I don't work. Oh well, I could do with being by a sea that doesn't give hypothermia, and not scurrying about doing things so much ! eyes

Tippy tapping typing indeed. All two fingers at that. Sometimes I have to search wildly for a colon, though I have a wild colon inside. Fact is , I needed to get my legs back under me and the island is the place for that.Never expected to find four sets . Sno, could you not bundle up warmly in your best rabbit fur coat and mittens and just enjoy the sites and sounds of the sea. I think perhaps there is something to that idea , that she gave birth to us all. I know she calls to me and I feel at peace near her waves , but I live by another code,,Praise the sea, but keep on land. By the way , there is much to be learned from a tadpole or a fidler crab. Speaking of the latter, where is VV . Surely we shall hear the clacking of crab claws soon. Have I placed enough bait ?
Trigirl, thank you for the kind words. They make my day . Rando, even the brown waters of the bayou look good after such a long drive. Lyn, good to see you . I may have stayed too long though as I am too mellow to crack wise. Time will cure that I am sure.

"Why Oh Why DO I get the feeling Sno is gonna Hop all over that crack"
nono I leap high enough without no crack to get me going....isn't there some kind of Healingwell rule that even prohibits us discussing this ? ! shocked skull yeah
idea Or were you referring to the pavement, beg pardon, sidewalk ? If so, I am afraid I am going to have to scotch that idea, you have caught me on the hop - and I don't mean a tall viney thing used to make British beer, either.... rolleyes
