I have noticed as my loose stools have stopped and I am back to formed poop I have a ton of constipation. My stomach is rock hard, I feel full, bloated, and uncomfortable. Right now I am on the anti-MAP cocktail and some Entocort and 6mp. Anyone have a similar problem? Any remedies? Trying prune juice.

Yes, I have had this (but not as badly as you) with Humira. I was told that mine may settle with time, as I've been severely ill for 10+ years and my body needs to readjust to passing solid stools again.

I'm really not sure about antibiotic treatment, though. Have you talked to your doctors about this? It would be dreadful if it continued on for too long and you developed an impaction as well.

Well, I also haven't been drinking enough water. Maybe 3 cups a day. Going to increase consumption and hope that helps. I have had Crohn's for 8 years now.

Yes, remicade causes me to get constipated. Miralax is key for me and drinking plenty of water.

my GI said u can get rebound constipation. it means your stomach is starting to settle down. i've been having the same problem. i used to have D each week but haven't had it for over 2 months now as it has gone the opposite way! so least it means things are starting to heal a little bit =)

I too get constipated... here's a strange, but true remedy for me - Fig Newtons! I can't eat too many or they upset my insides; but a few of them and they seriously help move things along!

I always prefer the natural remedies, fruit and prune juice are good choices, water and other juices as well all count toward liquid consumption. Cantalope and watermelon are good to get things going. If your stomach is that firm and it persists, please at least phone your GI and let them know, an obstruction can be very serious.

Keep us posted.

rebound constipation? Why didn't I think of that? I've been rolling around the bed with severe gas pain, trying to figure out how things could be better, but worse at the same time. Rebound constipation. Brilliant. Thank you. That is EXACTLY what I have right now! Going from 10 trips to the Lou a day to one or two had me excited, but then this pain and bloating... aye me. But now I know it's just a "means to an end"! Yay!

Ya, but it seems so hard to get rid of. I'm using Miralax and drinking tons of water and I still feel full of poop.

I have heard too many times over the years on this forum that fiber can be the key to remission for some people, or at least a very important part of feeling better. I am finally deciding to listen. I was warned though, that starting a fiber supplement can cause gas and bloating for somewhere around 3 months. So, I guess if the Cimzia is going to give me rebound constipation, I may as well be getting the fiber routine started at the same time.
