Have anyone read a book by Jordin Rubin " Restoring Your Digestive Health " ? Try the program with success? It have tons of good information. He is the CEO of Garden of Life. He cures himself with organic food, low carbohydrates, goat yogurt and HSO probiotic.

Hello!

I have read this book and yes, I tried this program religiously.

Unfortunately, it did not work for me. I bought all the supplements (including the detox clay, it just came out like white poo). I tried the Brasco Broth and ate it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner like recommended. Again, it did not work for me.

At the time I was absolutely desperate to try anything that worked and Jordan Rubin's programs seemed promising. But like I said, it did not work for me.

One thing I have adopted from Jordan Rubin's programs is goat milk, goat kefir, and goat yogurt. I only eat wild caught fish and organic chicken and do not eat red meat or pork (my own choice as red meat/pork seriously upsets my stomach).

I would say give the program a try to see if it works for you BUT be skeptical of ANYTHING that claims to cure somebody of their illness. What works for one person doesn't always work for another.

Take care and good luck!!

The best diet is the SCD, Jordan Rubin just wants your money.

There is no CURE for crohn's disease. Period. You can go into remission, but there is currently no cure and anyone who claims otherwise is after your money, plain and simple.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

kunglao, Jordan Rubin has a follow-up book called "The Maker's Diet." This is the diet we initially did for my son and had success. My personal belief is that you can use any GOOD brand of probiotics, digestive enzymes, etc., and do not have to buy his brand, though. I admit we did not do the detox clay or the "cleansology" which Rubin puts forth, nor did I purchase his supplements. I still use many of the basic tenants of this diet, though, and feel it's a very healthy way to eat.

After learning the Maker's Diet we learned of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) put forth in the book "Breaking the Vicious Cycle", by Elaine Gottschall. This diet was around before the MD and I have it on good authority that it is what "cured" Jordan Rubin and that Elaine personally coached him to wellness. Rubin tweaked the SCD, re-named it and added his supplements. The two diets are remarkably similar in that they restrict total carbohydrate intake. Fermented products (like home made yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, etc.) are also a critical element of these two diets as they add beneficial bacteria to your intestines (what you're paying for in probiotics!).

I would suggest reading about both of these diets and decide which way you want to go. We've had great success and I hope you do too! I also hope CrazyHarry comes along, because he follows the MD and has also had great success!
Mom to 16 year old son diagnosed in June, 2007.
Omega 3s, digestive enzymes, probiotics, vit. C, calcium w/D3, a good multivitamin and SCD legal yogurt
Started The Maker's Diet in Sept. '07. Incorporate Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) recipes, too.

Just please keep in mind that everyone is individual and what works for one person may not work for another.
