Hi, haven't been here in awhile, busy moving and life in general. So my fourth bowel resection was Nov, 2007, been having trouble with my hemoglobin pretty much ever since. So I had a blood transfusion before Christmas, and since the red blood cells only last 3 months, I am really anemic again. So I have a colonoscopy booked for the 8th of April and if that does not show any blood loss, then I have to see a hematologist. I am very concerned.

The thing is, I have some lower right pain, but my bowel movements are more solid now than before and they are not black.

Anybody have any ideas.

I also don't have much pain, mostly 1 normal BM per day (even when it's not black my hemoglobin still drops) and I'm not losing weight (although not gaining either), yet I'm going for my 4th blood transfusion this year tomorrow. If the Humira doesn't fix this I'm going for surgery.

We're 90% sure that my bleeding is small intestine. So I think that even though you aren't having black stool you could still be bleeding slowly, at least that's what I think is going on with me. Even if the colonoscopy is clear you could have bleeding higher up.

Hey thanks for the quick reply, I am on Humira too. As soon as I take an iron pill, you can be sure that I will have a bowel accident in the night, it is crazy. For most they get constipated. What a strange disease.

I also had some hemoglobin issues after my surgery, but everything eventually resolved on its own. I hope things work out for you.

doesn't that just sound cool when you sing it?
