I'd ask my health care provider about that one. I had constipation as a symptom for the longest time. Now that I am on meds for colitis, I am not as constipated. Not sure why but perhaps the colitis is getting better. Good luck to you!

I'm a crohnie that has had both C and D issues in my 18yrs so far of having this disease, my newest GI suggested I use a fibre supplement daily and indefinitely to aid with either of the C or D issues and I must say it's been 5 yrs of using it daily now and it has definitely helped not just with the D/C issues but it's also cut back my frequency some, got rid of my bloating and cut my gas issues down to minimal, I probably fart less then some healthy people out there now.

Thanks for your replies, I had 2 spoons of prunes this morning and little sip of juice and that seemed to do the trick....Trying to get hold of my GI now.

Hi Mary,

I use stool softners daily to avoid constipation. They are not laxatives they just softnen things up and make them easier to pass. And best of all they are over the counter.

Good luck

Drinking lots of water helps, too... :)
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.
