After having recent small bowel resection and stricture surgery I was told to be on a very low fiber low residue diet.  I know somewhat about the do's and don'ts, but I am having trouble finding foods that my family enjoy.  Before getting sick, we were a very meat and potatoes, fried, eating out kind of family, but now I have to avoid most of that.  I was just wondering if anyone had any good websites or resources for easy and tasty low fiber dishes?

Well, you can still do meat and potatoes. Just make sure the meat is lean and grilled, not fried, and peel your potatoes. For variety you can add in other peeled root vegetables, like carrots or turnips or pumpkins.

Pureed soups - quick and easy.

Casseroles - easy and fantastic. Brown some lean meat, add diced root vegetables, and cook. Serve with white rice.

Baked custards - ditto.

Stewed fruit, apple crumble, creamed rice, rice pudding.
