Just wanting to see who on THIS board has one. I've already visited the ostomy site and found them helpful, but was just curious who all had them as I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a million questions to ask!

TIA!

Depends which ostomy you need??

I've had a colosotmy for 2 years now, and would much rather have that than have to pass a stool through the rectum, I have perianal crohns with abcessed and fistula. My sphinca is almost completely destroyed from surgery.

My Dr. wants me to get one but I am not doing it now. I am feeling so much better that I don't want to rock the boat. They seem a little too knife happy to me.

I am curious about this too, been thinking alot lately about it.

The question I want to ask is;

What do you do in say walmart, or a large store, where people are all around. Does anyone bump into you, do you guard the area well, or is this no problem if they do bump into the ostomy?

Thanks

hey homeboy,
At the moment i am very guarded of my ileostomy but only because I only had surgery on march 4th and still a little sore but apart from that once its completely healed I wont be worried at all. I had my grandaughter on my lap the other day cuddling into me and it wasnt a bother at all. Also no one knows I have it unless I tell them, it is very well hidden. take care
