I'm 34 years old and was diagnosed with CD in Feb 09.  I think I've have had this for over ten years now. I was having a burning sensation in my abdomin that would come and go. I was told that I had IBS and to add fiber to my diet. It never really helped. So I just lived with the pain. Then in Feb I had severe abdominal pain that sent me to the hospital where I was finally diagnosed. Being diagnosed was a bitter/sweet thing for me. Now I finally knew what was causing my pain and how to help it, but OH NO, now I have a cronic illness to deal with.

I was diagnosed shortly after my symptoms appeared in late 2001. I was 35.
Misdiagnosed at first with Ulcerative Colitis, though I *did* have ulcers throughout my entire colon. Surgery May/2008 biopsy came back as Crohn's Disease. Didn't really change my treatment options.
I have the ability of single-minded determination and accurate project focu....Hey, look, a cat!
Crohn's and UC are pretty darn crappy, but if you can't laugh at yourself, you'll cry......I'd much rather laugh.
2001 Dx'd with UC.  No remission.  No improvement with Remicade.  5/2008 surgery, removal of 6" of left side colon.  Dx changed to Crohn's.  Remission for 8-9wks after surgery, symptoms returned after resuming 6MP.  Changed maintenance med to Methotrexate (MTX) and had great results with IM injections.  Nausea and symptoms returning with oral MTX.  Switched back to IM injections and am slowly improving.

I was diagnosed on my 48th birthday.  What a lovely and thoughtful birthday present my body gave to itself!!  nono    The gift for someone who already has everything.  I just don't recall CD ever being on my birthday present wishlist.  I tried to return the gift but the CD store doesn't accept returns.  Said it was special-ordered just for me.  Maybe I will re-gift it....  devil

35 years old.I have had symptoms for as long as I can remember,but no pain or blood and never went to a doctor about the symptoms until after my second child at 35.I was diagnosed with UC then and 5 and a half months ago changed to Crohns.They thought maybe i had Celiacs as well,but that test was neg.I can remember a roommate of mine from years ago-when I was young and single-say that I was in the bathroom more than anyone she ever knew-we were late to every party we were invited to-and there were many of those!!I am 42 now and the symptoms have changed for sure and not for the better,but i am blessed to have two great children and a husband of 10 years!

37 here, after a year long battle with a GP( one who said losing 15 lbs in 3 months is something most women would not complain about ( and i was 110 at that point at 5ft7), who fiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnally sent me to a Gastro and had it diagnosed with in 2 visits. And she was dropped as a GP lol
Diagnosed 4 years ago. been  a helluva ride since.  If there is a side issue to this dd I can find it.  I suffer with Pyoderma Gangrosum and horriffic mouth ulcers that get to the point I can't open my jaws.  Last one was nice enough to create a fistula and  add to my list of fun things to deal with.
Been on all kinds a things, currently on Imuran 50 mgs and it at least give me some confidence in leaving my home.
Allergic to Remicade. Promethius test shows my body fights it.  Also suspected to have PBC or PSC  autoimmune liver disease.

I was around 44 when my Crohn's symptoms began.  I decided to pursue my frequent intestinal cramping; so had many tests---some results pointed toward Crohn's and other tests didn't.  Was not definitive for several years; although my GI suspected it was Crohn's all along.  After another round of a "barium swallow", colonoscopy, and improved blood test, I could no longer deny my diagnosis.

54 year old female;
Have had Crohn's of terminal ileum for over 9 yrs, but finally accepted diagnosis when it was confirmed Feb. 2008.
Allergic/hypersensitivity to Pentasa, Entocort, and 6-MP.  Recently started Humira in December.
