Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I've posted anything but I've been logging on here and there. Just wondering if any of you have tried Oil of Oregano (drops or capsules). More and more I've been hearing about how great this natural immune system booster/ antibiotic is. Since I'm on Remicade I had to make sure it would be ok and the pharmacist said I could go ahead and take it. I'm hearing good things about it. Any thoughts?

I tried oil of oregano in liquid form recently... I think I did one dropper-full. It tasted awful and gave me really bad D. My conclusion is that I should have started slower. I have heard that it does wonders for gas pain and bloating, but after my initial experience, I think I'm going to #1 - try tablets next time if I can find them because the oil tastes horrible, and #2 - start WAY more slowly (ie half a tablet).

I do plan on trying it again, though. Good luck if you do too! Let us know how it goes.

Only a couple of drops (2-5) are needed and it's best to drop them into a small swig of OJ or something to help with the taste of it (it's very strong/peppery)...for me I never noticed it doing much of anything for my CD but it certainly stops a sore throat in it's tracks and definitely aids with colds.

oil of oregano is really strong and can burn. pb4 is right in mixing with juice. Olive leaf might be better..it is easier to take and is suppose to do the same thing..boost immune system and is antibug. be aware of die-off effect with either one. either one can cause joint and muscle aches as it rids your system of bugs. it is best to start slow then increase dose as you can tolerate it. don't take with immosuppersents. another herbal that has been mentioned as working for some people is wormwood. wormwood can be dangerous. take only for two weeks then stop. but before you do that you should talk to some one in your area that deals with herbs.

OH OUCH, I've never even had a fistula but I've used oil of oregano so I can imagine how much that must have killed!!!! Did it help, was it worth it??? Just maskes me cringe thinking about it.

I found it in gel caps and it worked well. You just have to remember to take it and with lots of water.
