Ok well 2 days ago I woke up with a sore back and later that day got a mild fever of like 100F, along with muscles aches. I think I still have the mild fever and sore back. I am taking a few tylenols to maintain as I'm studying for exams right now. A few weeks ago I had a virus I believe with stuffy nose and whatnot. I am on remicade, methotrexate and entocort. So I guess I am immunocompromised, I just don't know if im experiencing a reaction to the drugs now or yet another virus...The sore back kinda makes me wonder, too. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would say that the rapid onset of the symptoms would lead me to think "flu/cold bug", but that's just my opinion of course. Remicade does mess with your immune system, but when I was on it I actually got sick less than I did before or after I stopped it. I don't think they really know much about us crohnies' immune systems when it comes down to it!

There have been at least 5 different viruses being passed around among my friends and family... it seems like the worst part of the whole year for germs and viruses for some reason.

The sore back makes me think "kidneys"... how long ago was your last remicade treatment? Sometimes Remicade made my back hurt and the doc said it was because my kidneys were filtering out so much stuff, in addition to the 'Cade, that it made sense that I might have back pain... maybe yours is something along those lines too? Are you hydrated enough? Often slacking on fluids makes life harder for your kidneys, so make sure you're drinking lots to help flush everything through your system.

That's just my two cents, though. I'm sure there will be other takes. Regardless, I hope you get to feeling better soon, and good luck with exams. I know it sucks to be under-the-weather and filling in bubbles and writing essays!

Thanks for the reply. Sometimes I forget the less complicated things like fluid intake. Whether its a flu/cold or something with my kidneys, in both situations increased fluid intake would help. So good point, patientspiders.
