I just got back from my family doctor for a follow up visit. He is concerned because my platelet count is through the roof. I'm on Remicade and obviously alittle concerned. I have a fistula and arthritis as well (which is flared up at the moment). I have to see a hemotologist to find out why its so high. I know several of the things I'm dealing with can raise platelet levels and he told me not to stress over it but thats like telling water not to be wet. I didn't have a high platelet count until after I started Remicade 8 months ago. Anyone else ever hear of this?
Crohns 30 years. Ileostomy for 15 years. Symptom free for 14 years until 8 months ago. Now on Remicade, B-12 injections and iron. Feeling much better!

I've done some reaserch myself today and I don't know if I'm more relieved or more concerned. I think I'll take a Valium and call it a day. lol.

My platelet count has been high since I was diagnosed.  I've seen a hematologist and he just chalks it up to inflammation.
