I have had the infection for a few weeks before i went to my Doctor last Tuesday.

(((Should of gone in sooner, but My Mother is being treated for Cancer and i am running around like crazy looking after her...Only Child... ))))

My Doctor Wrote a script for antibiotic, on day 6. Strong pains still linger in Bladder area, Kidney pain mostly gone. Went back to Doctor today, i am urinating a couple of times an hour at night, more discomfort laying down( pressure in bladder area!) Says I have blood in urine, culture seems fine for the antibiotic.......States i have Stones. I have read up on this and do know what to expect and what i do not want to happen. The Doctor ordered me for a CT scan (CAT) We are covered up here In Ontario for this...Wondering if anyone else had all these things done after and how long till the stones passed. I am drinking plenty of water and i am going to start Cranberry juice. Any knowledge from anyone would be great.
Thank you! wink

Hi Grayman, welcome to HW. Nice to meet you, but sorry to see you, if you see what I mean.
I've heard that it is pretty much random, in my case some of them dissolved by themselves (really tiny ones) and the bigger (but still tiny) one was diagnosed after it came out. I was not given any medication or help, except - would you believe ! - they gave me a packet of narcotic painkillers to take away "just in case". eyes Sheesh, there are people here who are just about dying for those but cannot get them. Not that I would have turned it down - fastest way I ever found to break sweat head to toe instantaneously is passing a kidney stone. yeah
I would guess that someone else with more experience will be along shortly to give better informed advice.

Thanks for your knowledge..
I have had this for too long...My own fault tho, dealing with my moms illness and ignoring my own ... Should of nipped this in the bud long ago. I am usually on top of things...
Nice too meet you also....I am new too this type of FORUM.
I guess :-) it just means I am getting a bit older... smilewinkgrin You go too different places as you get older, The worst part of this so far....is the lack of sleep! Hopefully my CT scan does not coincide with my trip to Michigan on the 24th fro my wifes consultation for her surgery (gastric Band..) I should have my CT sometime this week, The wait times up here in Ontario are getting better.
Take it as easy as you can!
Mike!

Does that mean you have bladder stones or kidney stones? I have chronic kidney stones from crohn's and had surgery to remove one that was stuck last month while in the hospital. I am now on potassium citrate to help alkalize my urine and prevent stones from forming. Hopefully the ct will show what you have and a urologist can help you with what to do next.
