Hey, just wanted to let you all know that Humira has a new program to help with copayments.  I was skeptical at first, because it seemed too good to be true, and I have been waiting a while for my card.  But this morning, my GI gave me a card and pamphlet (called the Humira Protection Plan), and I called, activated the card, and went to get my Humira prescription for only $5!!!  I usually pay around $48 a month, so this will save quite a bit of money.  The info is available on the Humira website, and if you wait for a long time to get your card, you may try asking your doc if he has one (they get promotional things all the time and may just forget to pass them along).  Have a great day all!

Thanks Britt.  I ordered my card on 4/3 and am still waiting.  I don't see the dr until June, so he won't be of any help here.  I have to use the mail order pharmacy and normally pay $200 for 3 months, so I am very curious as to how much I will really pay.  Not sure I believe the $5 thing since I have to use Medco/Accredo.  I'll let everyone know if it really ends up being $5 for me also, but I don't order again for a couple of months anyway.

I have the card and got free Humira for 6 months. Unfortunately, the copay turns into 50 dollars a month after that. My doses just changed to weekly and I hope it's not $100 a month instead of $50.

For those of you who have been posting about this on and off, I ordered my new Protection Plan card on 4/3 and received it 4/21.  It really does say that they will cover all but $5 of the co-pay, but I don't know if this is per month or per 3 months, which is how I order my Humira. Opus will pay your co-pay up to $1000 for the first month and up to $325 for months 2-12.  It says you can renew the program after 12 months.  Sounds like the old Co-pay Plus program but they cover a lot more now.  Yeah for Opus Health!  I've been on Humira for 9 months now and have only had to pay once because of their programs and now won't have to pay much for another year!

Glad it worked out for you, ZenaWP... I know you were a little skeptical. I'm glad someone out there is realizing the drug companies aren't going to get ANY money for these drugs if we normal people can't even afford to pay a percentage.

I've been on Humira for about 2 yrs now & pay $50 every other week. I just signed up for the plan. It was very easy & tonight we'll see if my co-pay is only $5!
