I have a capsule endoscopy scheduled in two fridays. I am nervous, because I am having some RLQ pain again starting yesterday when I took a laxative and really messed my insides up. Horrible pain, pooed my guts out, diarrhea, etc. almost had to go to the ER. Anyways, now I'm having the RLQ pain again that I used to have last summer, where I had some narrowing in my terminal ileum. I am afraid the pill cam might get stuck, and/or hurt really bad when trying to go through that part but I talked to my Dr. and he said I should be "fine". I can't have a small bowel x-ray to make sure because I've had too much radiation exposure in the past 2 years. Has anyone had this test, and if so, was everything okay for you? Also did your dr. let you have it if you have had some narrowing in the past? My Dr. basically said that since my scope last summer didn't see narrowing that it shouldn't be there, but we all know that can change from month to month and since I was just in the hospital for a flare and showed crohn's in my sigmoid colon, it could also be flaring up in the terminal ileum, even though I wasn't having pain there in the hospital. Ugh sorry this is just all confusing and scary to me and I don't want to have that camera get stuck and have to have surgery to get it out! But I have to have the test. Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't worry too much. I am sure the camera pill would not stuck inside your system. Let it shoot pictures from your troubling intestines. You must remain relaxed.

Take care and keep us posted.

This is a pretty easy test. I think you will be okay and should go ahead and do it. I think you will be fine.
