mad  So first i had a scope almost 2 months ago it didn't go well i was in so much pain and wasn't sedated enough they had to stop there was tears rolling down my face,i was out of the hospital for 1 week and 3 days now and was on Humira and solemedrol through IV for the bowel obstruction no food only liquids of course and i was waitng for a bed in a larger hospital it never came up,so i went up to see my GI and she booked another scope and promised me that she would knock me out so it isn't so painfull plus the new bowel prep is 4 litres of peg lite plus laxitives i go enough now and i only have 12 feet of bowel left so every thng shots through me now. By the time morning rolls around my bum is going to be so sore i won't want to go near it let on have a pipe shoved in my bum,i need another one done cause i keep on having obstructions and there not sure if its from another narrowing (which would mean another stint to hold things open) or if its inflamation the Humira will help that or if its adhesions which i had removed 3 times now and they can't remove anymore cause i don't have enough bowel left to resect and i also have a huge hernia right above my belly button they won't put in a mesh they said it was to messy and if my bowel ruptured again they have to get through all that mesh first the hernia really is big and it popped out 6 months ago so it limits me to what i can do cause of the pain. So i guess my question is should i even bother going through another scope only to be told there is nothing we can do for you again i don't take rejection well and evry doctor and surgen i have been to in the last 6 months all said the same thing there is nothing we can do for you there is just not enough bowel left to resect and if we do you will have short bowel syndrom and i won't thrive meaning i won't be here long i asked. So i'm scared to say the lest but hopefull they will come up with something even if its another stint that is not so bad recovery time is quick. Thanks for listening to me vent. Your Friend Jenn hope all is well with everyone????? cry

My 19 yr old g'son has CD/UC (one or both?). After reading your post here on this forum, I just had to respond. You are one of the bravest people here on this forum! I can't begin to immagine the painful, scary journey your disease has taken you on. Yet, there you are.... joking around, saying your "bathroom is the nicest room..... ". I sooooo admire you! You are truly a survivor.... don't ever give up the fight! You deserve a miracle! God bless you.

yeah   Hi worrywartnana you sound like my gram your a great grandma your grandson is lucky to have you that is for sure so he is still in hospital i am on Humira to have been since 3 months tried remicade and methotraxate nothing worked for me i wish him the best of luck how old is he if you don't mind me asking and how long did you say he had CD was it since 2007 poor guy i think its harder on guys than women cause guys hold up this tough act and people expect them to be and that is wrong there only human and its just as hard for them more so because people lable them as tough and suck it up there pain is real just like ours god bless you and him. I really hope the Humira works for him but he will have to be carefull cause it lowers your ability to fight infection so beware of anyone with colds or flus even if you think there over there virus cause he can still pick it up. Thank you for your kind words that means the world to me more than you know nana do you mind if i call you nana for short. I'm going to the chat room this evening around 7:00pm eastern time i live in Nova Scotia hopefully i will see you there if there isn't much of a time differance between the two of us nana, you can find the chat rooms right on your screen. Thanks again Lol Jenn yeah

By all mean, please do call me Nana. That's about all I answer to these days. My grandson is 19 and Dx'd in Dec 2008 so he's new to this "way of life". Sorry I didn't make it to the chat room this evening but I'll look in there one of these days. Meanwhile I'm praying for both you and my g'son and sending positive thoughts your way!

smilewinkgrin  Hi nana how are ya doing today? So your grandson is still in the hospital what a sin is he down at all? The Humira is the same treatment i'm on and as far as i can tell its working for me its starting to slow down the runs a little but i'm still getting up alot at night but i'm sure it will work its self out is this the first drug they tried what about remicade or methotraxate did they try any of them? Does his friends come in and see him and do they understand how sick he is,he really needs people around him right now being newly dignosed and so young i was 13 but there is always someone worse of then me and that is what keeps me going i know that things could always change. Are they going to give your grandson a loading dose of 4 needles first or are they starting with something differant,i got the loading dose of 4 now i get 40mg every second Monday but my GI increased it to every Monday till my flare settles down. I didn't have any side effects from the Humira except some mild itching at the site but while he is in the hospital they can give him something for that if he has the same problem, and another thing it does burn but only lasts for 10 seconds like a shot of pain MEDS really i think thats the only way i can explain it,i didn't find any change until my 2 month some people notice right away i hope that is how it will work for him, please tell him we are all thinking of him and praying for him to come home soon and he can join us with you here at HW forum. Hope to hear from you soon my thoughts are with you and your grandson by the way my name is Jenn and i am from Canada. ))))))))))HUGS((((((((((( JENN yeah
