I am 18 and I have followed doctors orders for six years now. Recently having a flare up my mom has been urging me to try a different approach. She is super into alternative medicine and I have never tried anything. She came up with a website for digestinol. It's some type of medicine derived from the aloe plant. The testimonials of Crohn's patients make this very tempting but I am not quick to fall for someone on the internet trying to make a quick buck. I would never try anything without bringing it up with my doctor first.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had heard of it or tried it themselves? thanks.

Good for you for being skeptical! Though I don't remember discussion on that particular product, there is another aloe product on the market that has been discussed here. My recollection is that no one had anything all that favorable to say about it. That said, there are other supplements that many people here swear by that your mom might want to look into. Probiotics (beneficial intestinal bacteria), digestive enzymes, fish oil and vitamin D3, to name a few. There are others, but these are the first that come to my mind. Good luck to you! smilewinkgrin

Don't know much about the aloe (except external creams are lovely), however, I remember some swear by it. As to the probiotics....A DEFINITE AND RESOUNDING YES, Haven't done enzymes...can't stomach the fish oil...the D3 gets a thumbs up from me especially if you have muscular pain of any type.
