Hi all, it's been awhile since I have posted. My two little ones keep me pretty busy, and now with a third baby on the way life could get really interesting!
This is my situation. I had/have a boil that it located where my leg meets my torso. The boil is on my torso and rubbing against my leg. I have gotten a few of these before and they are big and painful and then after awhile they come to a head and then they drain and go
away. This morning when it began to discharge the discharge was a tan/brown color before it turned to the yellow/bloody discharge. The discharge smelled like poop to me. I don't want to be over dramatic or anything, but I know with Crohn's I could get a fistula. The nurse hotline said I should go seem my GP in the morning and have him look at it. Am I just being unneccessarily suspicious or what? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

One blessing that came with my Crohns: I thank God for each day that I can get out of bed and take care of my girls and my home.

Hello!

I would definitely go to the doctor. One thing they may do is sample the discharge and see what baceteria are present. If fecal matter or bacteria are there, then it is likely a fistula and abscess. It may also be a skin infection -- cellulitis. I had a very bad case in the same area as your boils, and I also got large, deep zits. If it is cellulitis, they can treat it successfully with antibiotics. Untreated, it can be serious (even life-threatening -- trust me!). I'd go see the doctor just to be safe.

Take care.
Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.
