Hey Ivy...you made my day even asking that :)

Things are going really well in some areas and not so much in others, but I guess that's how it is for everyone. My boyfriend and I are a lot better, I got a job, and I finally got my appointment set for my wisdom teeth. And I've been able to eat solid food for a full month now without problems!! The align probiotics are making a difference along with strict diet :)

The only problem with my job is that I work really hard and they said I was the best new hire they had for the first couple of weeks, and then yesterday when I made the most sales I have ever made they saw nothing, assume I wasn't working, and then sent me home early as well as cut my hours. Does this happen a lot or what? That happened to another girl and she tried to fix it but just got accused of having an attitude. Ah well, I don't really like retail in the mall anyway. A job centered around lying (which I refuse to do) is not worth it.

But really, how have you been? I have been thinking about a lot of you...

I'm glad to hear that things are going well in some areas at least. I was wondering about you myself. I hope things continue to look up. and that the areas that aren't so good, get better! wink

Thank you!! I'm sure they will. I feel like things always do anyway with an optimistic outlook. Though, I'm not going lie and say I'm not a little bit grumpy today haha..

Just a short one from me because my hands are really hurting, but congrats on finding a job. Is that helping with your financial situation? And how are things with your father?

Always thinking of you,

I.

I'm sorry to hear your hands are hurting...I wish there were something easier on the system (and head) to take for that kind of pain.
The job was helping with my financial situation, but if other people keep getting credit for the work that I do then I will soon be out of the job. BUT!!! I plan on applying to other places still. I don't even mind working at Wal-Mart honestly.
And things are in limbo with my dad. He sent some financial help which I am so grateful for...he doesn't know how much it helps out!!! I wish he would understand when I try to tell him.

How are things on your end though?

Sometimes I really hate how far away everyone is...I would so love to have beautiful people like you in my every day life.

And you, LMills. We're very lucky to be able to know you through the forums, at least :-).

I don't blame you for feeling frustrated about your job. It must be hard, too, with the economy in such bad shape - this has all happened at a bad time for you.

Would your situation have more impact if someone else (male?) talked to your father?

Ivy.

My brother has tried speaking with him, but those two have had a few problems lately as well so...my boyfriend offered but I think that would cause more strife since he gets really worked up about it (I think it's really sweet...).

I think it will just take time in this case. I should hope that that would suffice anyway at least until we can talk more.

I'm still a little amazed at how difficult it is for people to find jobs!! And even more frustrating is the fact that many people who HAVE jobs are so ungrateful about it...my boyfriend's coworkers have literally been doing nothing but standing on the floor with their phones texting and complaining bitterly when someone actually wants them to do anything so he ends up doing their work and getting none of the credit. Where on earth do the managers go these days? I feel like this happens way too much.

Hey L - maybe you should write your dad a thank you note. Then he will be able to see how much it helped without him thinking you are asking for more. Then he might decide to give you more on his own. Get a simple note card and here is an example: Dear Dad, I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know how much your generous contribution helped me. I was able to pay off my hospital bill from x incident. It is so nice to have one less thing to worry about. Hopefully with my new job hospital bill y will be gone soon too. Oh, and as always, I couldn't do this without your insurance. It means so much! Hope to see you soon. Love, Mills.

Ha ha ha - now I know it is sugary sappy sweet but it drives your point home while looking eternally grateful. You know you shouldn't have to thank him for being a dad. But he thinks he deserves a metal. Give him one lol. Sometimes killing them with kindness is the only way to go. Then each time he sees it he will hopefully remember all that you struggle with and try to help you more.

27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night.  I take xanax prn for situational anxiety (aka no easy bathroom access).

Yes, good idea, Fitzy, I think so too. Positive reinforcement (even if for trifles) can work wonders.

I actually had just sent him a thank you letter a couple of days ago and he seemed better. He seems like he would like to help more now so we will see how things go. I just want a good relationship with my dad in the end... :)
I also got hours at work later this week so hopefully that works out as well.
Thanks guys..
