Hi all,   Hope everyone is having a good day.  I started Cimzia 2 weeks ago and am due for next injection tomorrow.   I week after the first I got a site reaction.    Red bumps.    Anyone else ever had that?   Thanks, not sure I want to keep taking it.

You should probably call your doctor or the Cimplicity program. Are the red bumps at the injection site or elsewhere on your body, like hives? I always have injection site reactions, but they are minor.

I have had 3 sets of cimzia injections so far.  The first and the last left me with a strange injection site, sort of white colored spot around where the needle went.  The middle set of shots didn't do this.  I am not responding well, I start my once a month dose, however, the dr is going to give me an extra dose early.  I have been in the hospital this past week.  Has anyone else had to increase the Cimzia?

I' ve just had my first maintenance dose 3 days ago, prior to that my loading phase was accompanied with prednisone.
I had flares, I was frustrated, until I realized it was my fistulas that was giving me problems, so I asked my Dr to prescribe
me flagyl, then I developed kidney stones and I stopped my flagyl. Meanwhile I kept having flares. All this taken place while
loading up on cimzia. Now the cimzia(1 st maintenace dose) seems to be working, what makes me say this..well I feel well
and I' am tapering down on prednisone...I don't think I'm out of the woods yet, but it is still too early and I am on still on pred-
nisone. I am witnessing some side effects like tiredness. Like I am coming down with a cold or something, and my legs are
weak, risk to infections...hope this helps, regards Ben.

I had that same injection site response - the white blotches where the fluid went.  Last time it went away a couple days after.  I just had my 5th dose (2nd maintenance dose) yesterday.  The blotches are still there, but I think that's "normal" or at least inconsequential side effect.

I did my first drop for my coming out of the hospital taper.  Hoping beyond hope that Cimzia will hold me at some stable spot after the taper.  I don't need remission, just stable.

I have never heard of an increased dose, but I know I needed that with both Remicade and Humira.  I'd be curious to hear how it goes!!!

I just had my first 4 week injections. I haven't really had injection site problems. I'm not sure it is helping me yet, I have been under a lot of extra stress and going 5-10 times a day. Still giving it a try though.

I had my "extra" dose this morning, and am on the prednisone taper from when I left the hospital. I am crossiny my fingers that this cimzia is my miracle drug! I will get my maintenance dose in 2 weeks.

I haven't heard of the extra dosage since it's been on the market, but I used to get Cimzia every 2 weeks on a clinical trial and it was the same dosage that everyone is getting monthly.  So, it shouldn't do any harm.  I also used to get the white injection site whelts every time but never had the red bumps.

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)
