I am having my first colonoscopy since my flare in December.
Just a short one so I don't have to drink the laxative :)

Looking forward to see if the Remi is working for me.

What is a "short" colonoscopy without a prep? I've never heard of this before. Thanks! Julie

It only goes about 30 cm(11 inch) up into the colon and I have to prep just a little bit.

I cant eat anything for 24 hours(just drink) and I have to use Microlax two hours before I go, but I don't have to drink laxative or stay at the toilet for a long time.

Since my disease is mostly in the rectum this is the easiest way to see how the Remicade treatment is going.

And you don't get a sedative it is so easy just in and out :P

I think you may mean a sigmoidoscopy?

I'm sorry the results weren't better, Isergodur. When do you get to start LDN? And is there a reason you're not on Imuran, 6mp or methotrexate?

I thought you can't take Remicade with LDN.

Yes it is sigmoidoscopy i did not know the English word for it ;)

I am still trying to convince my doc about LDN but he wants me to give remi a little more change. I think only one person in Iceland is on LDN so it is not easy.

Thank god I am on disability it is full work having crohn's some times :) cant wait to go back to work or school though.

I cant tolerate Imuran but I have to ask about methotrexate, 6mp is not used here I think
