I developed type 1 diabetes (insulin dependant, auto-immune) after using prednisone/entocort for 3 months.  Please, if you're on steroids, keep an eye on your blood glucose.
It double-sucks.
You don't digest anything properly because of the CD, but yet seem to absorb every single dang blasted carb just fine so that your blood glucose still spikes.  This was key to me losing 30 lbs in 2 months last year.
Feeling much better now, diabetes is a piece of cake compared to CD.
(Oh it feels good to complain about it though.)

I have Type II diabetes which was pretty well under control...until about 3 months of being on entocort. It isn't terrible, just a little more tricky now.

I do alright on oral steroids, but each time I have IV steroids, I am diabetic within a day. On oral I just watch my sugars (and symptoms) when on higher dose. (Normally my sugars are completely fine.)

Excellent reminder!

I found out that I have steroid induced diabetes caused by the prednisone after I was put on it. I found out I had Crohn's, had half my colon removed and developed diabetes all within 3 months. Truly sucked.

Oh Vicky, that stinks - you must have thought you were falling to pieces! I see you have type 2 (metformin gives it away). I thought that a lot of people might have Type 1 seeing as it's another autoimmune disease and they often hit in multiples.

I think we're in a similar state of CD - I am doing good now but still have a few signs (gas) that indicate that all is not quite well. If I eat the wrong thing or forget a pill I tend to have 48 hour flares until I get back on my diet/schedule.
