We are very sad and stressed today.  My daughter was supposed to get her first shot of cimzia yesterday, but a visit to the surgeon first saw an infection within the abscess.  They cancelled the cimzia and scheduled another I and D for tomorrow morning.  THis is the 5th one in less than a year.

When the doctor told her yesterday she was inconsolable. Her boyfriends breaking up with her and we had to put our dog down last night (cancer) we had him for 14 years.

My dad is deeply depressed and my mother's driving me crazy (they live with me).  But that's normal.  I got my faith and it will get me through.  just venting.

I am so sorry to hear... Your family and daughter have been through so much. Hopefully they will let her start Cimzia soon after the I&D. Then it can go to work healing all those incisions/fistulas. I feel horrible for her... My thoughts are with you guys!

Praying for comfort and peace for you and your dear daughter, skill for the doctors, and understanding for your parents. Isaiah 41:8-13 Please let us know how she is! I am praying the abscess is small!!

I & D = incision and drainage.
Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.

I&D is an incision and drainage for an abscessing fistula... Usually includes seton placement to prevent further abscessing by keeping the tract open to drain.
