Want to know other's opinions: do I have the start of a new fistula or an infected Bartholin's gland? I noticed today that I have a swollen area, about
the size of the end of my finger on the outside of my vagina. Down low, maybe about
4 inches up from my anus. It's definitely not inside my vagina, so I'm trying to decide if I think it's a Bartholin's gland problem, but all the pics I see on line for that sort of imply that this would be more inside the lips? But then it also seems that all the info I'm finding for rectal-vaginal fistulas are also inside the vagina? I'm so confused, and of course, it's a Saturday so I will have to wait till Monday to call a doc.
It's not very large, not terribly painful but does ooze stuff if you give it a slight squeeze. Strangely, that pretty much sums up how my peri-anal fistula started. Anyone else have one any where is in this vicinity? Have you heard if you can get them on the outer lips as opposed to coming through the vagina? This seems to be one of those things you just don't get good information from the internet about
. I guess cause we're dealing with women issues and/or rectal problems.
I'm going to go press a hot compress against myself and see what comes out (clear, pus, fecal?). Any ideas would be appreciated.

Mine was about
two inches below the rectal area and only oozed yellow/white viscous fluid when I pressed down on it. I could usually clear it out enough that way sometimes too to see the actual hole itself. I mean it would always fill up again within 30 minutes to an hour...
Mine wasn't really painful either unless urine got on it OR if my doctor pressed down really hard to see if anything would come out (I only let that happen once..).
