I never thought in my entire life i would need a forum for me, but now i just may. i am active in the hepatitis section because of my mom having hepatitis but now i just found out i may have chrohns disease. i dont know the road im going down but even though they told me not to worry until i know i am.

it all started friday night, i started having pain in my right side and it was constant until i went to bed then saturday night and sunday night was the worst and also on friday i noticed some red in my bowel but i thought it was the tomatoes i ate. Three times this year i had severe abdominal cramps with diarehha that i thought was food poisoning. monday i went to the doctor where they sent me to do a ct scan cause they were thinking stones. well they called me in so im thinking stones or my gallbladder and they said the ct scan showed minimal dialatation of the terminal ileum with thickening f the wall adn a few prominent lymph nodes along the ileocecal area and early stage of crohns disease cannot be excluded and should be considered.

so now i have to go see a gastroenterologist and get a colonoscopy done and im scared. im 30 and have a daughter. i dont know what to expect and i dont know how to handle this. when i heard this and read about it, it sounds about right with me. even without the test i am positive that this is me. My bowels are loose and not solid anymore and i go at least three times and still have the feeling i have to go. what i read about it scares me and it may help to hear from someone who actually has it.

First of all relax and don't worry :) They have like a million different options now. Usually people post when they are having extreme issues so don't let it all scare you too bad. Stick with the forum, alot of great experience and knowledge.

Just relax and wait for the results. Getting all worried doesn't help the situation.

Its never easy when you get told something like this, i know i was in total shock and cried..
i thought what have i done to deserve this!!
My life was looking so bright, i left my boyfriend moved into my own place that i love with my 4 year old started enjoying life without much concerns then bang this hits me in the face, unfortunaly CD and much like others dont pick there timeing like anything that you dont want in your life, your just in state of shock and think this is all a bit too much but i have decided that i am not going to let it ruin me and you will accept the fact its here you might find things are tough and painful now but once your settled and medication kicks in you could find it all ok
Good luck

well if it is you caught it early without too much suffering..believe me 3 times is an hour's worth for some people...everyone has different lifestyles because of Crohn's because it can occur in so many different areas so its kinda hard to predict yours this early. Get the results and again don't worry.

Best advice that I have heard through this post and others is....you can't compare yourself to anyone else.  This disease affects everyone to different degrees at different times and getting anxious will certainly not help.  There are so many options out there now just make sure you ask a lot of questions with your doc and get one that will listen.

Take it one day at a time and you won't get overwhelmed.
Good luck

i have read alot about it but until they know for sure i have to deal with the pain, while its not severe it is painful sometimes. is there something that will reduce the pain or stop the bowel movements. i know three to five aint much but it is a lot for me esp. since its more loose(though not diarreha). does the colonoscopy hurt.

A colonoscopy doesnt hurt as your asleep when its performed but i had to drink the most sickning drink the day before which by everyone i know that has had a colonoscopy will tell you the drink is the worst part of the whole procedure.. for me i was struggling to drink it but lucky for me i had drunk enough for the colonoscopy to go ahead..
This drink is to clean your bowels so they can preform the procedure..

Your being pro-active by asking and reserching now, so there might not be to much of a shock factor if you do have it. Crohns is not a death sentance, many people go on to live a normal life with no symptoms at all while others try to adjust to
the symptoms that Crohns throws at us. With all of the medications and new medications coming out, this disease is not as bad as it was 20-30 years ago when they had no clue as to how to treat it.
Just relax and if you got it, it is what it is. Just say to yourself that you are not going to let it beat you.Your the "WINNER"
I wish you the best of luck.
