I have yet to be diagnosed.... but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced occasional stabbing (the only word I can think to describe it) rectal pain as a symptom of Crohn's?

I wouldn't say as a result of Crohn's, but if I get constipated, and push too hard (sorry if this is too much info) sometimes i have pain that feels like stabbing. Is your pain all the time, or when you have a bowel movement? Have you talked to your doctor about it?

I have a lot of rectal pain, but it's pretty steady. Every now and then I get "stabbing" pains in other places though.

I have had that before, feels like someone jammed a dbl edged sword up your rearend. I don't know what is was, but it was a leg straightner but only lasted about 5 seconds and then I had a BM and all was fine.
Don't know what it was, my GI is even baffled.

It could very well be related to CD since CD can affect any part of the GI tract from mouth to anus, sometimes I get it when I'm having proctitis issues (inflammation of the rectom due to CD). When I use cortifoam (rectal med) and it clears it up then I don't experiance any kind of rectal pain, including stabbing pain.

Yes I've also experienced this on occasion.
Not nice either.

I have had this happen also. Once - out of the blue - I went to sit down and the pain shot through my rectum like I had sat on something sharp (I actually checked the seat to see if I had). This still happens at random times.
