Some are obvious. Some use their real name. Some wish to remain anonymous. I wonder quite often?

It took me awhile as I'm sure some others to open up and feel comfortable with divulging too much information.

Tried quite a few variations of my middle name when I first joined but they were all being used so settled on my horses' nickname. Hope that doesn't conjure an image of me?

Real name Colleen
55 yr. old F dx. CD 07/07
Was on prednisone for three months but no medication for next 11 months.
Started weekly methotrexate injections 09/22/08.

Hi Colleen,

I chose my name because my cheeks are Always Rosy . . . but I spelled it different because I like it better.

Blessings!

Ooh I have often wondered about some names, some are pretty obvious lol.
Well I lurked here for ages before signing up, think I had a pressing question or something so mines a pretty much an on the spot name!

lil - I'm small so people are always referring to me as lil
crohnie - lol kind of self explanatory I have Crohn's tongue
UK - again self explanatory lol!

I can completely understand the whole anonymity thing, I mean even though I'm pretty open about my illness most people I know know I have it, but we can get pretty graphic here as well as a lot of ranting! I doubt anyone I know would come on here and even if they did probably wouldn't 'spot' me anyway but I'd probably feel awkward if they did as we discuss a lot of personal stuff at times! So I go for anonymity from them, its nothing against all the lovely people here!

What breed horse?  (I rode stock types most of my life and then switched to gaited, Peruvian and PasoFino)

78SilvAnniv was the name I chose for the first forum (Corvette) I ever joined.  I have a 1978 Silver Anniversary.  Not very imaginative, but it works for me since I've chopped the name up and I don't have to worry about anyone else already having it.  Most places I use my name; Heidi.  At one site, where I didn't feel comfortable using my name (and the place is fairly crass, so what I chose fit right in) I use Hoof Hearted.   :-D  *say it out loud*

I have the ability of single-minded determination and accurate project focu....Hey, look, a cat!

Crohn's and UC are pretty darn crappy, but if you can't laugh at yourself, you'll cry......I'd much rather laugh.
2001 Dx'd with UC.  No remission.  No improvement with Remicade.  5/2008 surgery, removal of 6" of left side colon.  Dx changed to Crohn's.  Remission for 8-9wks after surgery, symptoms returned after resuming 6MP.  Changed maintenance med to Methotrexate (MTX) and had great results with IM injections.  Nausea and symptoms returning with oral MTX.  Switched back to IM injections and am slowly improving.

The only way my Father would agree to naming me Suzanne was if I never was called Suzie. So he always called me Zanne. No one else ever called me anything but my full name until I had nieces, nephews and friends with little kids, then I was Zanne again. Either Aunt Zanne or just Zanne. So really it just a family term of endearment, not many people I know would know me by it, but I can remember it easily.

My screen name is what my grandbabies call me. It started off as them calling me Nana but somewhere one of them had problems saying it and it developed into Nanners. I always sign off as Gail*Nanners*, so as you can guess, Gail is my first name:)

I used to use my name until someone posted about that potentially not being so safe. So I had to find something else and I always liked the heatmiser character in the xmas video "the year without a Santa Claus". It has nothing to do with me other than I like warmer temperatures.

I use my initials (sr) and then the number that I tack on to any username. It all started when I tried to find an email address at yahoo years ago. Since my name was taken I randomly typed 5599 at the end and it's stuck for about 6 years! Like others I worry that if anyone I knew tried to look up Crohn's they'd see the graphic details. I am also open about the disease, but not like I am to other Crohnies!!! No way!
