I've checked Rules and FAQ.  There is nothing about photos, it only discusses links to other websites.

I would like to know the guidelines for posting links to photos.  I understand images are not allowed, to keep the forums moving quickly for dialup users, but I am uncertain of the photo requirements.
Can anyone direct or tell me, please?

Crohn's and UC are pretty darn crappy, but if you can't laugh at yourself, you'll cry......I'd much rather laugh.
2001 Dx'd with UC.  No remission.  No improvement with Remicade.  5/2008 surgery, removal of 6" of left side colon.  Dx changed to Crohn's.  Remission for 8-9wks after surgery, symptoms returned after resuming 6MP.  Changed maintenance med to Methotrexate (MTX) and had great results with IM injections.  Nausea and symptoms returning with oral MTX.  Switched back to IM injections and am slowly improving.

What kind of photos do you want to post? We had a post once, with pictures of the members. So I assume it depends on what types of photo's you want to post.

I wanted to share some of my kitty pics (photobucket links) in the thread I started about my cat Malibu becoming like a demanding 'mother' to me. Others have posted links I was able to click/view. I've tried posting the links several different ways and they are not clicking 'open' for viewing, it is saying photo removed or no longer available, even when I click on the links...but when I go to PB, they are there...and they are also visible in the other forums (pet related) I've posted them in.
I didn't know what HW's requirements were and if I was doing something incorrectly.
Thanks for any help,
heidi

I am not the person to ask, as my computer skills are limited in that dept. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.

Ugh... This is going to sound *so* stupid...but I don't know. 0_o
I've just opened PB in another tab and nothing is jumping out at me and saying 'private', so I'm not sure. I posted photos yesterday on a horse forum and they showed up just fine. I copied/pasted the IMG code PB provided.

Here at HW I tried several ways. I'll try again with the four options PB allows:
Email & IM:
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v618/78SilvAnniv/?action=view¤t=HPredi.jpg
Direct Link:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v618/78SilvAnniv/HPredi.jpg
HTML Code:
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v618/78SilvAnniv/?action=view¤t=HPredi.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v618/78SilvAnniv/HPredi.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
IMG Code: *this is one of the pics I posted at another forum last night*

My post of the IMG photo, had "blue letters" saying 'VIEW IMAGE' and I clicked and it opened a window with my photo just fine.

Looks like the one option I may *not* have used, was the one I should have used?

You can see if your account is set to private by going into your user preferences in photobucket. I just checked for you and it IS private, however that isn't an issue - it just means that no one can see your albums, only the single image that you link to them. The direct image link (ending in .jpg) or the [img] code are the two best ways to link on a forum. I wish I had pictures from my scopes though, I'd love to post them here :(

Tinypic.com is also a really good place to post images, by the way - photobucket has bandwidth limits, so after a certain number of people view the images, it blocks them for a set amount of time.

Thanks! I didn't realize PB made limits on views to the photos.

I wish I had photos of my c'oscopies with this specialist. My *last* scope would have been interesting because I could see my blue surgical stitches. That was neat. My very first c'oscopy was pretty depressing...I had bleeding ulcers EVERYWHERE, throughout my entire colon. I think the photos show about, what?, 3-4" per photo? I had probably 40+ visible ulcers per photo. It was Ugly-Mugly.

I'd be interested in seeing colonoscopy/endoscopy photographs anyway. And I'm not going to lie and say I'm not curious as to what some of you look like :)

But I understand the need to keep picture settings the way that they are.

So we can post one of our favorite colonoscopy pictures instead of a picture of ourselves?? Like an icon used in other chat rooms. I am just envisioning seeing colon pictures with our names on the left side of the page. "oh yes, my good friend is online -- I recognize her diseased colon"....

And we could have contests for the worst and most beautiful looking colons!
Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.
